A quick tour of Skepticamp 2009, held at the Tivoli Student Union. Because this was such a unique setting I've included photographs of the campus for those of you who are not familiar with the Denver.
Skepticamp was a huge success and this was my first. I'll be back!
FYI. There was also a meeting of the local "It's a UFO, it must be an Alien" group. I've included a couple of photographs of their location. And while I remember, as Brian and myself where heading over to take a peek we spotted a UFO hovering in the sky. Any resemblance to a ballon is purely an optical illusion.

p.s. Permission is granted to download any image providing it is not used in any commercial way, or you send me a big check! Photographs can however be used in any connection to Skepticamps elsewhere for any use. Just mention me as the photographer.
p.p.s This site was originally the Rocky Mountain Brewing Company, but owner John Good changed the name in the 1860s to the Tivoli, in honor of the gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark*. Now it serves as a student centre for the Auraria Campus of the Metropolitan State College of Denver, and students as well as the surrounding community enjoy the mixture of shops and restaurants located here. Visitors can take a self-guided tour, and browse the historical information and period photographs posted throughout the building.
* I used to drive to Copenhagen from Oslo (where I was living) once a month just to enjoy that city. The Tivoli I used to visit held some of the best open air concerts. "Now, just what is that smell?"
No Libel Laws in Science

The use of the English libel laws to silence critical discussion of medical practice and scientific evidence discourages debate, denies the public access to the full picture and encourages use of the courts to silence critics. The British Chiropractic Association has sued Simon Singh for libel. The scientific community would have preferred that it had defended its position about chiropractic through an open discussion in the medical literature or mainstream media.
