Rational Alchemy 10/17/2009 May be our most controversial episode ever. It's also our first NSFW episode, so be careful if others are in earshot. Also, if you are related to any of us, I strongly suggest you do not listen! You have been warned. I was joined by Jeff, Alison, and Nigel for a frank, and often shocking discussion of sex and morality. This is a topic we intend to revisit. Consider this a baseline to which our own morality can be compared. We find that sex has been neglected by the skeptical community and this is our first attempt to remedy that. After hearing this, you will know exactly where we stand. Now it's your turn. We want questions, comments, and stories from our audience. Nothing is too taboo. No Libel Laws in Science

The use of the English libel laws to silence critical discussion of medical practice and scientific evidence discourages debate, denies the public access to the full picture and encourages use of the courts to silence critics. The British Chiropractic Association has sued Simon Singh for libel. The scientific community would have preferred that it had defended its position about chiropractic through an open discussion in the medical literature or mainstream media.
