Interview: Tonight we have Dr. Joe Albietz of The Children's Hospital in Denver, CO and sciencebasedmedicine.org. We devoted the hour to him to discuss the science behind vaccination and to discuss, and demolish, the modern anti-vaccination movement. Also listen for the best Voltron reference I've ever heard and Brian demonstrating his insight into anatomy.
News: We are going accept audio blogs (and standard text blogs in the near future) from YOU. We want to hear your voice and what is on your mind. So I have added to the web site the ability to upload MP3 files. There are some rules (for audio format) that you need to follow, but Brian managed to learn them so I think it's a bit of a no brainer to be honest!
I've not yet started the Audio Blog section as I will wait until I have three or four in hand. Also, the best of the best will be transmitted during the Rational Alchemy radio show and after we get a good collection we will probably do a show featuring just YOUR podcasts. Also, we are wanting opposing views for what many of you know are our views in the skeptical world. You DO NOT have to agree with us but we do want to hear from you.
So the ball is firmly in your court. Follow this link to get started.

No Libel Laws in Science

The use of the English libel laws to silence critical discussion of medical practice and scientific evidence discourages debate, denies the public access to the full picture and encourages use of the courts to silence critics. The British Chiropractic Association has sued Simon Singh for libel. The scientific community would have preferred that it had defended its position about chiropractic through an open discussion in the medical literature or mainstream media.
