This week, Dr. Eugenie Scott was good enough to sit down with me to record an interview during her recent trip to Colorado State University. Dr. Scott is the Executive Director of the National Center For Science Education and a fierce defender of science in schools. More Information about Dr. Scott and the NCSE can be found below.
This week I also had the sad opportunity, with the assistance of Jamie, of providing a memorial for frequent guest and good friend Dr. Doug Nichols.

No Libel Laws in Science

The use of the English libel laws to silence critical discussion of medical practice and scientific evidence discourages debate, denies the public access to the full picture and encourages use of the courts to silence critics. The British Chiropractic Association has sued Simon Singh for libel. The scientific community would have preferred that it had defended its position about chiropractic through an open discussion in the medical literature or mainstream media.
