You've seen a few articles and comments from us asking you to submit your stories and questions about sex. I'd like to take a moment to address this myself. Sex is something that affects everyone differently. From giggling fits, to hostility, to fainting spells, we all react differently. I feel that, as skeptics, our greatest value is in asking difficult questions and opening up forums for honest discussion. We just recorded a show about sex. While the show is intended to be funny, we take the subject very seriously. It also serves to show that we are willing to talk about anything, even ourselves.
So we are asking you to tell us about yourselves. Send in your stories and your secrets. We want to know what turns you on, what scares you, what you're unwilling to discuss, and why. I know for many of you this can be difficult. To show I'm serious, I'll start. I'm a bisexual. I just finished coming out yesterday. It was harrowing, but I feel better. So what are you? Gay, a fetishist, a pedophile? We want to know, and we wont judge you. This is just the beginning of what I hope will be a long running, open discussion of sex and sexuality. Send us your stories via e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , put the word "sex" in the subject line. Or send us your story in your own voice by using our podcast submission system which can be found here.
I realize the thought of sharing this kind of information may be terrifying, and the secrets you hide may be so socially unacceptable as to be illegal. At the bottom of this post you will find links to information about TOR, a system for anonymous web browsing, and Hushmail, a secure, encrypted e-mail solution. Both are free and by using one, or even better, both, we won't be able to tell who you are, nor will anyone else.
Please share this with people you know. We want as many opinions and views as we can get.

No Libel Laws in Science

The use of the English libel laws to silence critical discussion of medical practice and scientific evidence discourages debate, denies the public access to the full picture and encourages use of the courts to silence critics. The British Chiropractic Association has sued Simon Singh for libel. The scientific community would have preferred that it had defended its position about chiropractic through an open discussion in the medical literature or mainstream media.
